Biography

 

1962 | Sarah was born into a family of artists in Pembury, Kent

1983 | Graduated from Middlesex University with a degree in Constructed Textiles

1984 | First commission by The Conran Shop to produce a hand tufted rug. Freelance work began for companies such as Nina Campbell

1989 | Joined Liberty Design Studio as a colourist

1993 | First solo exhibition at the Lyric Theatre in London

1994 | Work exhibited by the Royal West of England Academy and the Bath Society of Artists

1995 | Full feature article about Sarah’s work published in Country Living magazine

2001 | Moved to the Netherlands

2006 | Returned to Devon to attend a course in Arts and Health

2007 | Started art workshops at Force Cancer Support Centre & St Peter’s School Nursery, Lympstone. Children’s Artist in Residence, Farringdon

2009 | Produced a collection of work for Devon Open Studios

2010 | Paintings accepted by the Bridgeman Art Library. Colour consultancy for Little Pod. Brand design for company producing olive oil

2011 | Sarah is a freelance painter and also runs art workshops for cancer patients & runs private courses in colour

January 2011 onwards:  Creative workshops at Force

February:  Creative workshops Children's Ward RDE

March: Invited to judge the SDC International Design Competition at Heathcoats  

March: Recipe Exchange Project Spacex: Children's 'Postcard Art Workshop' Farringdon Village.

March - August: Private Workshops

May: Conniston Community Centre, Arts Council funded project

July: Patchway Community College 'Paint to Music Workshop' Year 9

July: Work accepted for Evolver Prize 2010 Exhibition, Thelma Hulbert Gallery

August: Private Workshops and Force

September/October: Painting trip to Nice

November/December: Painting Demonstration for Topsham Art Group. Force and Private Workshops

NEXT | Sarah intends to continue to travel and develop her skills as an artist
